He Is Risen!

As John 19.30 says so nicely, "It is finished."

Some verses to consider today:

I shall not die, but I shall live,
and recount the deeds of the LORD.
The LORD has disciplined me severely,
but he has not given me over to death.
Open to me the gates of righteousness,
that I may enter through them
and give thanks to the LORD.
This is the gate of the LORD;
the righteous shall enter through it.

(Ps 118.17-20)

Lift up your heads, O gates!
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD, strong and mighty,
the LORD, mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates!
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts,
he is the King of glory!

(Ps 24.7-10)

But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen."

(Lu 24.1-6)

Have a Happy Easter, all.

Christmas Verses

Finally. After some time trying to find free online storage, I discovered Box.net, and it looks exactly like what I wanted.

You can download PDFs of the verses sent out from the shared folder. At some point I'll probably do some for Easter, too—considering that the Christmas story is only half.

Not Forgotten

I have not forgotten this blog. It has been difficult to come here of late, largely due to a lot of real life business that is unlikely to subside in the weeks and months to come. As a matter of fact, I am stealing some time away from needed chores to write this.

I had hoped to post some PDFs with verses in them for Christmas, but as of yet I've not figured out how to share them with literally everyone using Google. So until I learn how this all works, I won't have much to share.

But hopefully this blog post is a portent of good things to come.
